What it needs to do: convince a stranger on another continent that there is a real, competent, trustworthy person at the other end who will treat their photograph with care. Two or three hundred words, written plainly, in your own voice. No adjectives you would not use out loud.
Why hand-painted
The one thing a filter cannot do
Any phone can turn a photograph into something that looks like a painting in two seconds. That is genuinely useful for a social media post, and it is not what we do.
A filter applies one uniform texture across an entire image, which is why every filter output looks the same after you have seen twenty of them. It does not know that the light in your photograph comes from the left. It does not know that the dog's left ear is in shadow, or that the horizon should be softened so the eye can finish it.
Oil paint behaves differently depending on what it is sitting on, how thick it is, and how long it has been drying. Layering it means the painting changes slightly every time you walk past it. That is not a feature you can download, and it is the entire reason someone commissions a painting rather than buying a print.
If you want a print of something, buy a print — they are excellent and they cost $40. If you want an object your family keeps for eighty years, that is a different purchase, and it is the one we make.

How we work
- Published prices. The whole table is on the site. You should know what a fourth face costs before you email anyone.
- Nothing is charged until you have seen the plan. The mock-up comes before the invoice.
- Honest about source photographs. If your photo will not carry the size you want, we will say so before you pay.
- Real oil, and we will prove it. Photographs of the actual canvas, plus the texture you can feel with your thumb.
- The painting is yours; the image is the artist's. Stated plainly, up front, on the terms page.
