What we do with your information
Short version: we use your photograph to paint your painting and for nothing else, and we delete it ninety days after delivery.

Who we are

What we collect

What we do with it
- To paint your commission and send it to you.
- To contact you about your order.
- To keep the business records that tax law requires us to keep.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your photographs with third parties. We do not use your images or your correspondence to train machine-learning or image-generation models.
Your photographs specifically
Photographs you send are used only to produce your painting. They are stored in access-controlled storage, and deleted within 90 days of your painting being delivered unless you ask us to retain them for a future commission. Written requests to delete your photographs immediately are honoured within seven days. This is a point of trust rather than a legal formality: you are sending us pictures of your family.
Who else is involved
- Our payment provider — to process your payment and handle refunds.
- Our shipping courier — who receives your name, address and a customs declaration, but never your photographs.
- Our email provider — through which our correspondence is stored.
- Our website host — which serves these pages and records aggregated traffic statistics.
We do not use advertising networks that build cross-site profiles of you, and we do not sell audiences.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. If we later add analytics that require consent, a consent banner will appear before anything is set.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy.
- Have it corrected or deleted.
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.
- Receive it in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time. This includes withdrawing consent for us to show your commission in our portfolio.
If you are in California, these rights arise under the CCPA/CPRA and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them. If you are in the UK or EU, they arise under the UK GDPR and the GDPR, and you have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. In every case, email us first — we would rather fix it directly.

Children
We paint portraits of children, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 as a customer. A parent or guardian must place any order involving a minor.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and we will say what changed. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
